Åre Kulturarena

Åre Kulturarena is a Swedish cultural initiative based in Åre that envisions a permanent arena for local heritage, contemporary art, and design within the community. Founded through collaboration between Studion Åre and the Åre by- och turistförening, it aims to create sustainable opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

• Vision: To establish a locally rooted yet globally attractive venue that fosters reflection, learning, and meaningful dialogue among creators and audiences.
• Offerings: The project includes future atelieres on Åre strand, upcoming festivals like the 2026 Craft & Art event, and workshops in music, visual arts, and writing.
• Sustainability: Operations are grounded in social, environmental, and economic sustainability principles while supporting local creative sectors through circular business models.
• Partnerships: Developed jointly with architect Bertil Harström's firm Studion Åre to integrate regional craftsmanship with international artistic standards.

The organization currently operates as an active cultural actor arranging events until a permanent physical location is secured on Lake Åresjön.
